If you are considering Elizabeth DeHart Fitness, this is the place for you to continue your journey to becoming a better you. I met Coach Liz while I was beginning my running journey. She was the lead Coach for a 5k/10k Training Program. At first, I was intimidated by Liz's fitness level. I thought, how can she relate to my fitness struggles? She ran alongside me during one of our training runs and shared her story. We had more in common than I realized, and she became my inspiration. Liz encouraged me to step up from the 5k to 10k event; hesitantly, I ran the 10k Tower Challenge at the annual Loop the Lagoon. Her encouragement and support prepared me to charge the hills and complete the race!
After the program, Liz and I became friends and stayed connected even after I relocated to WA. I aimed to run a marathon for a while and met up with Liz on a training run in CA. From March 2021 to September 2021, Liz became my virtual marathon training coach. She was there for me with plans, the ups, the downs, the pains, and the gains. I successfully completed the Bellingham Marathon. It would not have been possible without Liz's support and coaching. During the race, I replayed our conversations and motivational sessions, which helped me cross the finish line and cross off a goal.

Before working with Liz, I was at a place where I wanted to make some changes in my life. I knew it was a struggle for me to do it on my own, but I needed to start somewhere. Liz has been exactly what I needed in a personal trainer. I did group fitness for a few years, but I knew I needed 1:1 training to find my footing again. Liz met me where I was, reminded me that I wasn’t alone, and trained me with some tough love. She pushes me because she knows I’m stronger than I give myself credit for. She pays attention to my form and gives me cues so I know where to feel the tension with different movements. Her workouts are always challenging and sometimes I’m left sore with muscles I never knew I had! And through it all, Liz always encourages me. You can just feel how passionate she is about what she does and she’s amazing at it! I also appreciate how Liz checks in regularly to see how I’m feeling after workouts. In doing so, she has taught me to listen to my body and give myself grace. There are days when I can give 110% to the workout but then there are some when it takes everything for me to just show up. I think I'm currently Liz's oldest client (physically, anyway!), in my mid-60s. So, don't let age be an excuse for not getting or staying fit. In fact, it (age) should be a reason for staying active and strong.
I've been training with Liz for about 8 months now, as I prepare both mentally and physically for bilateral total knee replacements. I trained with Liz twice a week this summer and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! Stepping into a gym and lifting weights was intimidating to me because I haven’t done so since Covid. She would explain the different movements/variations she had me do and its benefits which was very interesting to me so i can do those exercises with a purpose. As our sessions went on, I was so amazed at how much weight I was able to lift in such little time she pushed me in a way that would challenge and excite me. Our workouts were always different and never tedious i had a new challenge to look forward to each time. My goal at first was just to lose fat and be “fit” but the more time we spent working out together she made me more excited about getting stronger and lifting heavier which lead to me losing fat and gaining muscle. Working with Liz gave me more confidence and a different outlook when it comes to working out, I’ve been able to have fun with the process which eventually lead to results. Can’t thank her enough for all the fun and motivation she would bring at 6 in the morning!
